Hopes new unit will reduce amount of time patients spend in hospital

Ambulatory Assessment Treatment Unit officially opens its doors

A new unit at Noble's Hospital is hoped to help reduce the length of time people are waiting to be seen in A&E.

The Ambulatory Assessment and Treatment Unit, or AATU, means those not needing to be admitted can be given an appointment to come back at a later time.

It also means those needing daily medication who'd previously be kept in hospital could come in daily and recover predominantly at home.
