Hopes nativity will add to festive spirit for Christmas shoppers

Performance including sheep and a donkey takes place on North Quay tonight

Children, adults and even live animals will be performing a nativity on North Quay in Douglas this evening (12 December).

'Christmas Live' takes place alongside late night shopping in the Island's capital.

It'll feature music from the Salvation Army band, sheep and a donkey from the Home of Rest for Old Horses.

It's been organised by Pioneer Minister Reverend Alex Brown along with Douglas City Council.

Manx Radio's Judith Ley has been speaking to the reverend and Douglas City Manager Oliver Cheshire:

The event is free to attend and gets underway at 6.30pm outside St Matthew's Church on North Quay.

A road closure will be in place between North Quay's junctions with Ridgeway Street and Market Hill.
