Second time in 25 years fishing has been permitted
The Isle of Man herring fishery has opened for only the second time in 25 years.
It follows a successful re-launch of the fishery last year and sees a doubling of the total allowable catch from 100 to 200 tonnes.
The return of herring fishing to Manx waters was made possible by a landmark agreement between the Isle of Man and UK Governments.
