23-year-old must pay more than £1800 in compensation
A Douglas motorist who collided with a stationary vehicle has been ordered to pay more than £1800 in compensation for the damage he caused.
Harry James Quinn, of Lakeside Road, hit the Mini Cooper on Glencrutchery Road in Douglas on 3 September.
The 23-year-old had failed to note that it was indicating and waiting to turn.
At Douglas Courthouse he admitted to driving without due care and attention and having no insurance.
Quinn’s advocate told the court the collision was a ‘minor bump’ and the value of the damage caused was disputed.
Fining Quinn £550, and ordering him to pay prosecution costs of £50, High Bailiff James Brooks also endorsed his licence with six penalty points.
