Healthcare issues raised in Keys questions

For the first time in several weeks the issue of Pinewood Shepperton does NOT feature in the House of Keys oral questions this morning. [tues]

There is however a question about the profit or loss of certain films for written reply, and once again that comes from South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft.

This week she is focusing on other areas of concern, as Beth Espey reports.

Mrs Beecroft wants the Chief Minister to explain the purpose of the national Strategy group, she will quiz the Social Care Minister about his department's contract with Atos Healthcare and will ask the Health Minister about the recently announced review of the Liverpool Care Pathway in the UK.

She will also call on David Anderson to explain which recommendations in the 2006 Healthcare Commission report on the care provided by Noble's Hospital have NOT been fully implemented. This question was first asked in written form at the end of last month.

The other eight questions concern the land exchange swap at Kirk Michael - a question from Peter Karran, housing needs, maternity pay, Irish sea Oil, the Director of Financial Services, cowboy builders, the Southern area and sewage treatment works in Peel.

There are three bills for third reading, one for consideration of clauses and in Legislative Council no questions, just a second reading and clauses of the Income tax Bill and a third reading of the Moneylenders Bill.

Keys questions is broadcast live on our AM 1368 frequency from 10 o'clock this morning.
