Health set to dominate as Tynwald returns from summer recess

Members will discuss a range of issues at October's sitting

Tynwald will return from the summer recess today, with the Manx parliament sitting for the first time since July.

Health is set to dominate the agenda, including an urgent question from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Tim Glover.

The cost saving has bubbled up in the last fortnight - the question to be put to Health Minister Lawrie Hooper by Mr Glover will be if he'll make a statement on Manx Care's proposed service cuts.

Questions that follow cover a range of issues from easyJet's Belfast route and Douglas City Council's redevelopment proposals for Spring Valley.

Air passenger duty, action taken after the government roadshows, the NHS dental waiting list, coal tar and consideration for a Sir Mark Cavendish statue are also set to feature.

Elsewhere on the order paper, there's an autumn statement from Chief Minister Alfred Cannan, a financial update from the treasury minister and the chief constable's annual report.

Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas has a motion on Manx Care, while Onchan member Julie Edge is calling for a general debate on Island connectivity.

Tynwald sits from 10am - you can follow coverage on Manx Radio's AM frequency, on DAB and digital platforms.
