Half of Ofsted recommendations to improve child and family services still not implemented 

Improvement board now being moved to Manx Care to continue work

More than half of the recommendations made in a bid to improve child and family services on the Isle of Man are yet to be completed.

It follows a review by OFSTED which took place in April and May last year.

As a result the Children’s Services Improvement Board was established to oversee the implementation of 62 recommendations – 30 of which had been delivered by September this year.

The outstanding points are said to need further time and consideration of funding, resources and legislative changes to deliver.

The board is now being transitioned from the Department of Health and Social Care to Manx Care – something which Onchan MHK Julie Edge believes needs careful oversight:
