Guilty pleas from man who stole alcohol from petrol station

37-year-old assaulted store manager on forecourt

A man will be sentenced later this year after stealing alcohol from an EVF Garage in Douglas.

David William Prescott, of no fixed abode, admitted assaulting the Peel Road store manager in a struggle after he was spotted on CCTV leaving with a bottle of Sourz.

The 37-year-old proceeded to flood his cell at Police Headquarters after he was arrested in the early hours of 17 August.

At Douglas Courthouse he admitted damaging property, using threatening or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour, theft and common assault.

A social enquiry report has been requested before Prescott is sentenced on 15 October.

There was no application for bail and he was remanded in custody until that date.
