
Over 50 employers attend Locate Isle of Man 2025 event as young people explore career paths on Island
Young people from across the Isle of Man gathered at the Villa Marina yesterday to explore career opportunities at the Locate Isle of Man 2025 Graduate Fair.
The event, held in the Royal Hall, featured more than 50 local employers from a wide range of sectors. It aimed to connect students and recent graduates with potential job prospects, while offering a platform for networking, talks, and direct conversations with recruiters.
Many students attending the fair expressed optimism about building their futures on the Island, citing the growing diversity of sectors now offering employment opportunities.
Jake Crook, a physiotherapy graduate from Keele University, said he returned to the Island to take up a rotational physiotherapist role with Manx Care, and spoke to Manx Radio about what influenced his decision:
However, not all graduates are staying put.
Rachel Smith, who studied Ecology and Conservation, said she plans to leave the Island next year to pursue a master’s degree, citing limited job availability in her field despite recent work with DEFA and the Manx Wildlife Trust:
Minister for Education, Sport and Culture Daphne Caine was also in attendance.
She described a “buzz” in the Royal Hall, reflecting the range of opportunities now available to young people finishing education.
