Government needs to be 'realistic' about delivery of legislation included in Island Plan

Drafters expecting workload to increase before end of administration

Government departments need to be realistic about what legislation can be achieved as part of the Island Plan before the end of this administration.

Attorney General Walter Wannenburgh says he understands they are now ‘looking again’ at the document which set out the five-year vision between 2021 and 2026.

In March last year an updated version of the document was steered through Tynwald

Mr Wannenburgh was giving evidence to the Constitutional and Legal Affairs and Justice Committee.

The AG said his legislative drafters are expecting their workload to increase as the administration draws to a close:
