Company told it's because of an exclusivity deal with another vendor
A local company claims its been told it's now "not allowed" attend the Royal Show this weekend.
Gelatory has taken to social media to 'provide some context'.
The gelato manufacturer, which has shops in Douglas, Peel and Ramsey, says it's a huge fan of the Royal Show as it's a "fantastic celebration of Manx farming and agriculture".
In a statement on Facebook, it says it would have loved to attend, and had been planning to until Tuesday - a day before it was due set up its stall.
However, it claims the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture sent the company an email saying it could no longer attend because of an exclusivity deal the show has with another vendor.
Gelatory says it's "a shame" after the promise of a greater presence at the show following the cancellation of the Food and Drink Festival and having already prepared its products for the event.
The organisers of the Royal Show have chosen not to comment, while DEFA says it will be issuing a statement shortly.
