Board member Melanie Christian says there's 'relief' that plans are moving forwards

Garff Commissioners is encouraging residents to attend public drop-in sessions later this month for proposed sewage treatment works for the parish.

Manx Utilities has plans for a number of intermediate pumping stations in Laxey and a plant at Axnfell Plantation - which follows a rejected application in 2019 for a site at the Cairns.

The local authority says it has been 'frustrating' waiting to get to this point, but there's some 'relief' that the plans are now moving forward.

But commissioner Melanie Christian says there's had to be some compromise.

Local Democracy Reporter Emma Draper has been speaking to her:

The drop-in sessions are being held on November 27 and 28 at Laxey Sailing Club and Baldrine Church Hall.
