FSA warns of bogus firm claiming to operate in Douglas

Regulator believes those using the site could become victims of fraud

The Island's financial regulator is warning of a potentially bogus company claiming to be operating from an address in Douglas.

SAF Investments' website says it has a base at Hill Street, but the Financial Services Authority has failed to establish any association between the website and a genuine Manx business.

For the company to offer the services it claims to provide it would need to register with the authority, but the FSA has confirmed it has not done so.

The FSA is concerned that those accessing the website could become the victim of fraud or identity theft, and is urging anyone who has had dealings with the website to contact the police.
