Three supermarkets say 'thank-you'
Three major French supermarkets have praised the quality of Manx scallops exported to them during the run-up to Christmas.
The head of the Manx Fish Producers Organisation says it's highly unusual for retailers to make direct contact in such a way.
Two months into the new scallop season, catches are at their highest levels for years and product quality is high.
But Dr David Beard says exporters are still having to deal with the high cost of transporting stocks from the Island, so plaudits from the French are a welcome boost:
Reopening of Martin Ward delayed following further safety checks
Major reservoir projects completed on time and on budget
Law Society responds to 'anecdotal' reports of conveyancing log-jam
Repair scheme an 'antidote to throwaway culture'
