Police issue scam warning
Police have issued a scam alert, following reports of fraudsters calling local residents posing as Microsoft technical staff.
It's claimed the would-be identity thieves are asking for remote access to PCs, where they can then plant malicious software.
Doing so gives the hackers access to secure details stored on the computer, such as bank account and credit card information.
The Constabulary has launched a social media campaign, asking people to be aware and share the warning.
