Environment minister welcomes the news
The environment, food and agriculture minister has welcomed the news eel grass is flourishing in Manx waters.
Found in four areas around the Island, eel grass produces oxygen and can absorb 35 times more carbon dioxide than some tree species on land.
Its root system helps bind the seabed together and also provides a nursery for fish, crabs and lobsters.
