Farmers struggling as production costs increase to levels 'not seen before'

Union calls on DEFA to support agricultural industry further

Some food producers on the Isle of Man are finding it difficult to stay afloat due to rising costs.

That's the view of the Manx National Farmers' Union which says production costs are reaching 'proportions that haven't been seen before'.

Increases in a number of areas mean food prices locally are likely to rise as a result.

The MNFU has called on government to offer more support to the industry.
