'Exciting' new degree opportunity at UCM

UCM will hold its open evening on 14 of November

Manx students thinking about studying for a degree in Applied Social Science, will have the option to study on Island in future.

UCM is inviting applications to join the course from next month.

It's a three-year Bachelor of Science degree with psychology, sociology and criminology forming the majority of the syllabus.

Following completion of the course students could move into roles within the Police, social work and caring professions, teaching, marketing and HR.

Gail Corrin, UCM's Higher Education Manager says that with 64 Manx students studying psychology, sociology, criminology and related subjects at University in the UK in 2022, UCM was keen to provide an option for students to study without having to leave the Island.

Studying locally students get the added benefit of meaningful work placements on Island, enabling them to build strong industry connections when they graduate.

More information will be provided at a UCM open evening on 14 November.
