Event to focus on young people, substance misuse, gambling and gaming

Hear from Motiv8 and Manx Care practitioners at the iMuseum 

Agencies on the Isle of Man need to stay up to date with the latest drug trends in order to better protect young people.

That's from the chief executive of Manx addiction charity Motiv8 ahead of a public event next week.

Attendees will hear from specialists on topics such as substance misuse, exploitation, gambling and gaming.

Thea Ozenturk warns that, sometimes, youngsters might not know what they're taking:

The event is being held at the iMuseum on 22 January between 1.15pm and 3.30pm.

It will include a series of presentations which will include practitioners from both services covering:

• Treatment and support for substance issues in young people

• Early intervention and education in schools

• Motiv8's family service and responding to the hidden harm of family substance- misuse

• Gambling and gaming disorder

• The exploitation of young people in the local drug culture and inventive outreach approaches.
