999 calls answered in 1.5 seconds
The Emergency Services Joint Control Room received more than 2,400 emergency calls in September.
The average time it took to answer a 999 call was one and a half seconds.
Figures released by the ESJCR show that there were 1,137 police events, 1,190 ambulance events, and 128 for the Fire and Rescue Service.
Meanwhile, 16,443 non-emergency calls were received and radio transmissions - used by emergency personnel - reached a total of 124,085.
