Douglas woman admits having £37K in criminal cash

26-year-old will be sentenced at Court of General Gaol Delivery

A Douglas woman will be sentenced next month after admitting possessing almost £37,000 in criminal cash.

Charlotte Megan Gatt, of Governors Hill, appeared at Douglas Courthouse where she entered guilty pleas to two offences.

The court heard police had executed a warrant at the 26-year-old’s former home in Onchan on 19 December 2019.

They found £1,940 hidden behind a mirror; a subsequent search of her workplace recovered a ‘tick list’ which officers believed showed evidence of the supply of drugs.

Bank records were obtained which showed cash deposits, of more than £34,000, had been made into her account between February 2018 and December 2019.

Summary jurisdiction was declined and Gatt will be sentenced at the Court of General Gaol Delivery on 17 February.

A social enquiry report has been requested and bail, until that date, was granted.
