Residents can look at the designs and give their feedback

Douglas Council is holding drop-in sessions this weekend for residents to have their say about the new designs for the sunken gardens.

The scheme includes a skate park, children’s play area and a revamped garden space.

It’s budgeted to cost the local authority £1.4m and is due to be finished in March 2026.

The sessions are being held between 11.30 am and 3.30pm today (7 September) and tomorrow at the Strand Shopping Centre in Douglas.

Draft designs will be available to look at and the council says the design team will be in attendance.

Marine Gardens four and five as well as the Queen's Promenade Gardens are planned to be regenerated.

The council says it wants to ‘increase pedestrian footfall’ with viewpoints and spaces for events in the capital.
