Double-shifts to shorten Lezayre Road disruption

Diversions in place until August

Revised plans for a major roadworks scheme in the north of the Island will mean less disruption to road users - according to the Infrastructure Minister.

A project to resurface part of Lezayre Road, and create provision for a connection to a new water main, started this week.

Work on the stretch of road had been planned for last year, but was put on hold following concerns over the length of time a full reconstruction would take.

Ray Harmer says revised working hours will help to further shorten the length of the disruption:

Pedestrian access is being maintained throughout the works, but motorists are being diverted onto the Jurby Road between Sulby Bridge and Parliament Square.
