 
                            Inspirational gift from Dr John C Taylor
Renowned inventor Dr John C Taylor has donated £500,000 worth of high-tech equipment to the Island's Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre.
Machines, tools and software - some of which have been used by Dr Taylor himself - will offer aspiring aerospace engineers training in skills to help them secure jobs in the future.
It's hoped the new facility will encourage more young people to get involved in engineering, especially women.
A plaque to mark the donation was unveiled at the training centre in Hills Meadow, Douglas today (27 June).
Youngsters heard a speech from Dr Taylor and had a first look at the numerical control workshop, which is named after him.
