DoI Minister won't comment on Lord Street redevelopment plans

Haywood wants to respect 'independence' of planning system

The infrastructure minister has refused to comment on plans to redevelop Lord Street in Douglas.

Michelle Haywood told the House of Keys this week (25 February) she wanted to respect the ‘independence of the planning system’.

A planning application – submitted in May last year – is currently under consideration.

If approved a mixed-use development – including apartments, office space, a multi-screen cinema complex and restaurants – could be built on the site behind the bus station.
