Organisers explain factors behind current decisions
Delays to today's Isle of Man TT Races schedule have been extended into this afternoon.
The latest announcement from race officials shortly before 12pm says wet weather is still forecast and a further update will be issued at 3pm.
The latest statement from the Isle of Man TT Races is as follows:
"In considering the scheduling there are two primary objectives - the safety and wellbeing of our competitors, and the entertainment for fans both on the Island and those following via the live broadcasts.
"There are further contributing factors such as the available road closure periods, pre and post-race procedures, the weather forecast, the impact on the local community, and the stress and fatigue placed on teams, officials, marshals, and medical staff.
"TT 2024 has been subject to significant disruption due to weather and a series of road-traffic accidents. The weather forecast remains changeable for the remainder of Friday but improving for Saturday.
"We hope to safely deliver some more incredible racing and have a brilliant final 48 hours of TT 2024."
Similarly to the racing schedule, further announcements are expected on the Red Arrows display at 3pm.
