Debbie Gooding wins Cleveland Medal

Highest honour in its 100th year

The top prize at this year's Manx Music Festival has been won by Debbie Gooding.

It's the 100th year of the Cleveland Medal, which Debbie says makes it even more special.

It was created by Manx people who emigrated to Ohio and was first presented in 1923 when the Cleveland Manx Society raised a sum of £100 to maintain a "musical connection to their homeland".

Debbie also won the Duet Final last night, singing alongside Neil Taverner.

The winner of the Junior Vocal Solo class was Penny Lavery who received the Sheffield Plate.
