Deadline looms for this year's Manx Music Festival

Entries close on Saturday

Entries for this year's Manx Music Festival will close this weekend.

If you are still debating entering this year's Manx Music Festival - this is your final call; you have until Saturday (1 February) to submit your entry.

The competition will take place from 26 April to 3 May.

Alongside the various classes on the syllabus the event will also play host for the regional heats for the annual Cranmer Awards.

The national competition, organised by the Prayer Book Society, sees children aged 11 to 18 recite passages from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.

Readings are own choice from the Book of Common Prayer and must be between three and five minutes.

Two class winners will qualify to go to the National Finals in February 2026 to be held at Hampton Court Palace in London.

Anne Clarke is the Guild Chairman:

You can enter via the Guild website or via paper forms available in the syllabus.

Online entries will close at midnight on 1 February 2025.

Paper entry forms must be delivered to the entries' secretary by midnight on the same day.

If you are entering you must also submit hard copies of sheet music for own choice classes (if you are using the official accompanist) and scripts for any own choice speech classes by the entry closing date.
