Daniel's Law moving closer towards implementation

Act received Royal Assent in 2021 but is yet to come into force

People who sign up as organ donors can make a ‘massive difference’ to the lives of those waiting for a transplant.

That’s from the man tasked with implementing the Human Tissue and Organ Donation Act 2020 which is also known as ‘Daniel’s Law’.

It received Royal Assent in 2021, after being brought forward as a Private Members Bill, but is yet to come into law.

When it does people will have to opt out of being a donor rather than opt in.
