CPR training event scheduled to teach live-saving skills

Would you know how to help someone having a cardiac arrest?

Could you be the difference between a life lost and a life saved?

That’s the question being posed by Manx Care which will host a session to teach life-saving skills that could help those around you.

Figures indicate that around 80 percent of cardiac arrests occur at home with survival rates in the UK remaining 'stubbornly low'.

Schools there teach CPR as part of the national curriculum but the Island is yet to see that implemented despite repeated calls for that to happen.

Senior Nurse Paul Ellis spoke to Christian Jones:

The 'Restart a Heart Team' will be at Strand Shopping Centre, Douglas, on 12 October.
