Douglas Council says it’s not happy about proposals to hold an extra practice during the TT festival this year.
At its meeting due to he held on Wednesday, it’ll consider the executive committee’s response to a consultation over the proposal.
The Department of Economic Development is proposing an additional session on the morning or afternoon of Thursday or Friday, 29th or 30th May.
But councillors say they’re unhappy at the idea of yet more road closures – which could cause problems at the crematorium.
The executive committee said apart from the inconvenience to the public, Douglas Borough Crematorium’s operations during TT week itself was already restricted by racing schedule.
The committee also said reintroducing daytime practicing would also affect other council services, including waste collections, street cleaning and lighting maintenance.
But councillors said if the government planned to go ahead despite its objections, then Thursday afternoon would cause fewer problems.
The issue will be discussed when the full council meets at 2.30pm on Wednesday in Douglas Town Hall.
