Changes to steam convoy schedule

Locomotives to complete journey on Saturday

A convoy of road steam engines is set to head further north today.

The three iconic road locomotives are carrying the Manx engine Fenella, but encountered some unexpected problems yesterday.

The plan was to complete the journey from Douglas to Jurby, via Laxey and Ramsey, yesterday.

Unfortunately they were forced to stay in Ramsey overnight.

Today will operate on a revised schedule - leaving Ramsey Harbour for Jurby at 10am, via Bowring Road, Jurby Road, St Jude's and Sandygate.

The vehicles will stop off at the Isle of Man Motor Museum, before heading back to Ramsey at 5.30pm.

On Saturday they'll head over the Mountain Road back to Douglas at 10am; and then on Sunday, you can see them on display on Douglas Promenade.

Road closures will be in place as the 8mph stock rolls along this morning.

Motorists are also reminded the Mountain Road remains closed, and is not accessible to the general public.
