Calls for improved identification and provision for pupils with neurodiversity

Petitioners believe there's not enough support for those with dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia and dysgraphia

It's hoped there will be better identification and support for those with neurodiversity in all educational settings.

Dyslexia Advocacy Group Isle of Man submitted a petition on Tynwald Day calling for improved teacher training and more resources.

The group aims to understand the 'barriers and obstacles' and wants to collaborate with the Department of Education, Sport and Culture to find a solution.

Manx Radio has approached the Department of Education, Sport and Culture for comment.

However, Education Minister Daphne Caine recently said her department is committed to an inclusive education policy and hopes to carry out a review in due course.
