MHK says climate change fund is a 'complete waste of money'
A Member of the House of Keys wants the Council of Ministers to urgently review its net-zero targets and budgets, and adopt a 'more pragmatic' approach to climate change.
Middle MHK Stu Peters has motion tabled for the December Tynwald sitting seeking support for a review.
The aim would be to divert some of the money currently allocated for climate change measures to strengthening the wider economy for the benefit of all residents.
This year's budget included £25.7 million of unallocated funding for the Climate Change Fund to assist government departments in meeting the net zero carbon emissions target by 2050.
