Describes Douglas centre after 5pm as a 'ghost town'
A café owner in Douglas says he’s moving from his town centre location because it’s a ‘ghost town’.
Tim Brogan, who runs Gourmet Shakes, says a lack of footfall after 5pm, and increasing rates on the high street, means he’s having to shoulder more costs.
He’ll relocate from Castle Street to a new premises on Windsor Road after TT.
Mr Brogan says he hopes the move will mean he can operate longer hours, and keep his prices lower:

In January Tynwald approved a multi-million-pound Local Economy Strategy which is aimed at transforming the Isle of Man’s high streets.
