Public transport network to have chip machines installed
Passengers on the Island's public transport network could soon be able to pay by debit or credit card.
Plans are underway to install chip machines on buses, trams and trains later in the year.
It comes in light of a well-publicised case this week, whereby a 12-year-old was left without any money when he didn't have the correct change for his bus fare.
Isle of Man Public Transport says it's keen to make payment easier for people of all ages - and reminds the public they can use pre-paid 'Go Cards' on weekdays.
Otherwise, cash-paying passengers are encouraged to carry the correct change for their journey wherever possible.
