Budget aims to 'put money in the pockets of working people' says minister

Alex Allinson will unveil the financial plan for the year ahead today

The treasury minister says this year’s Budget aims to ‘put money in the pockets of working people.’

Alex Allinson will outline government spending today (18 February) for the year ahead.

More than one billion pounds is expected to be allocated across various departments to fund public services.

A range of measures are expected to boost consumer and business confidence following two years of economic uncertainty and high inflation.

The Budget is also expected to focus on tightening government spending across all departments and ensuring all remain within their funding envelopes.
Dr Allinson says he has had to make some tough decisions this year too:

The Isle of Man Budget will get underway in Tynwald from 10am.
