Beach cleaning group wants to break record
The Island's Beach Buddies are challenging the southern community to beat a record set by the north, by coming out in force this weekend!
The volunteer coastal cleaners are tackling Spaldrick Bay in Port Erin, described as a magnet for litter.
A local Buddies member who regularly picks litter form the beach has called in the cavalry, as the job has become too much for one man.
Beach Buddies leader Bill Dale says 17 new volunteers joined the group last weekend at the Point of Ayre.
He's asking the southern community to come out in force this Sunday (11 Sept) to tackle Spaldrick, from 10.30am - and see if they can reach - or top - the bar set at the other end of the Island a week ago.
