House of Keys to be asked to support Private Member's Bill
The process of getting divorced in the Island could be speeded up, if politicians support a bid to have the law changed.
Garff MHK Daphne Caine will ask for support to introduce a Private Member's Bill on the issue at today's sitting of the House of Keys.
The proposed legislation would change the grounds for divorce, dissolution of civil partnerships and judicial separation.
Mrs Caine says research from the UK suggests a speedier process could be beneficial.
