Beehives in Castletown targeted again

Police appeal for information

Beehives in the south of the Island have been tampered with once again - the fourth time it's been reported.

They were last targeted in the middle of last month.

The hives are situated at the back of the old Ocean Ford garage in Castletown, opposite Janet's Corner.

Police are appealing for information about the latest incident.

Call them at Castletown police station on 822222 if you can help.

Manx bees are free of the Varroa virus, so there is a ban on the importation of bees to the Isle of Man.

Officers say the ones we have therefore need to be nurtured, and actions such as those in Castletown will lead to their deaths
