August sentence for Douglas man accused of retail fraud

53-year-old pleads guilty to fraud by false representation

A Douglas man will be sentenced in August after committing fraud by false representation.

Andrew Ian Corrie, of Lakeside Road, appeared at Douglas Courthouse yesterday (20 June).

The 53-year-old pleaded guilty to committing the offence, at Marks and Spencer, on 23 May last year.

It means Corrie has now admitted three offences – the others took place in January and February this year.

He accepted he’d changed labels on goods, and returned a number of worn items, at the retailer on Drumgold Street in Douglas.

A social enquiry report has been requested before he’s sentenced on 15 August; bail was granted until that date.
