APD 'stunting growth' from airlines says Chamber of Commerce

It's been flagged as a potential risk to the Island's ongoing connectivity

Air Passenger Duty has been flagged as a potential risk to the Island's ongoing connectivity by the Chamber of Commerce.

It claims it's 'stunting growth' from the airlines.

APD is a UK tax that passengers aged 16 and over must pay when flying from most UK airports.

If you have any questions on the new membership structure reach out to Jess or Becs. ✈️Air Passenger Duty (APD) Air Passenger Duty (APD) has been flagged as a potential risk to our ongoing connectivity . in that it is stunting growth from the airlines APD is a UK tax that passengers aged 16 and over must pay when flying from most UK airports. Unlike the Channel Islands, Scotland and Southern Ireland, the Isle of Man has adopted this tax. The revenue from APD goes directly to Treasury, not the airport. APD is stunting growth from the airlines. We know the Airport are in conversation with Government and Chamber will be submitting their concerns as well. 🤝Meeting with Treasury Minister Meeting with the Treasury Minister to discuss more collaborative ways to work in the future with a promise of more opportunity to work closer with Treasury. 🛳️Evidence to Select Committee of Tynwald on Regulation of IOMSP We will be going out to members very shortly asking for your comments on the performance of the IOMSP in order that we can submit evidence for the Select Committee of Tynwald on the Regulation of the Steam Packet Company
