A wreath will be laid on the site where the Manx politician was executed
The annual Illiam Dhone commemoration takes place today at Hango Hill.
It is organised jointly by Mec Vannin and the Celtic League Mannin Branch.
The event starts at 2pm and sees a wreath laid on the site where the Manx politician was executed on 2nd January 1663.
Mark Kermode, Chairman of Mec Vannin, will give an introduction in English and then a Manx oration will be given by Cesar Joughin.
After the proceedings at the Hill those present are invited to gather for a social event at ‘The Sidings’ bar in Castletown.
The Illiam Dhone commemoration has been held annually since 1979.
Previously, an event was held in 1963 by Mec Vannin at the Hill.
