High level of training requirements to blame
The Isle of Man Airport has repeatedly made headlines recently due to persistent Air Traffic Control staffing issues.
This week, Manx Radio was granted exclusive access to the Air Traffic Control tower at Ronaldsway to find out more about the job, and why these incidents may occur.
Head of Air Traffic Services, Geoff Pugh, says when there is a shortage of ATCs at any given time, the fix is not as simple as drafting in controllers from other areas, due to strict rules around training:
'Continued disruption' expected overnight
Teams work to clear Ronaldsway of snow
Mountain Road to stay closed amid wintry conditions
Wintry weather: Airport to remain closed today
