NASUWT members taking industrial action this week
Parents are being urged to talk to their employers if they have to stay at home to look after their children this week.
All secondary schools are asking some pupils to stay at home on Wednesday and Thursday due to industrial action by the teaching union NASUWT.
The Manx Industrial Relations Service says the onus is on both parties to find a workable solution.
Deputy officer Damian Warburton says despite this parents have no statutory rights:
Four out of five teaching and lecturing unions have now accepted the pay deal from the Department of Education, Sport and Culture.
Meanwhile, a teacher is offering free Zoom lessons to Manx students whose learning will be disrupted by the strike.
Rachel Green, a qualified teacher and private tutor, offered the free classes in September when year groups were told to stay at home due to the dispute.
