Industrial estate now re-open to public
Firefighters dealing with a blaze in Jurby say the incident has now ‘concluded’.
Emergency services had been working in the industrial estate there since yesterday (5 August).
It was after an acetylene cylinder caught fire – due to the ‘volatile nature’ of the substance, and the damage to the valve set, it had to be left to vent and burn.
In a post on social media the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service confirmed it was brought under control at around 3am.
The area is now open to the public who have been thanked for their cooperation and patience.
