2024 Isle of Man Sports Awards taking place tonight

Great and good of Manx sport to be celebrated in Douglas

The Isle of Man Sports Awards will take place in the Island's capital tonight (27 February).

Getting underway at 8pm at the Villa Marina in Douglas the event is once again expected to celebrate the success stories and sporting achievements of the Island during the last year.

Twelve accolades will be up for grabs including the coveted Isle of Man Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year prizes.

There will also be an Olympic gold medallist in attendance as the guest of honour in the form of Great Britain triathlete Georgia Taylor-Brown.

There are eight people in contention for Isle of Man Sportsman of the Year - Eddie Beard (Cricket), Matthew Bostock (Cycling), Sir Mark Cavendish (Cycling), Will Draper (Triathlon), Billy Harris (Tennis), David Mullarkey (Athletics), Mathew Rennie (Boxing) and Max Walker (Cycling).

Meanwhile six have been nominated for Sportswoman of the Year - Kaytlyn Adshead (Motorsport), Nikki Arthur (Athletics), Christa Cain (Athletics), Aimee Cringle (Cross Fit), Yasmin Ingham (Equestrian) and Sarah Webster (Athletics).

Along with the individual and team prizes, the annual Lifetime Achievement and Leonie Cooil Courage and Inspiration Award will also be presented.
