The Strand Shopping Centre in Douglas has a new manager.
At the end of this month John Shakespeare will take over from John Gladstone, who has worked at the centre for nearly 20 years, the last ten as the man in charge.
Mr Shakespeare will steer the Strand through its 20th birthday celebrations in February next year - an anniversary which, he says, shows there is some continuity in an unstable world.
Around 30,000 people a week are said to visit the retailers at the Strand to shop.
