Branch boat race for HSBC staff
Team work's to the fore today when staff at a Douglas bank put their oar in, as part of a company fund-raising event (31 March).
HSBC staff are taking part in a Beat Cancer Boat Race, along with colleagues at main branches in Jersey and Guernsey.
But no life jackets are required: the challenge to see which island team can row the furthest will be fought in rowing machines on the bank floor - not from the river bank!
The event's in aid of Cancer Research UK and takes place ahead of this weekend's university boat race between Oxford and Cambridge (2 April).
Customers will be invited to donate to the cause - HSBC has raised more than £3,500 so far this year for the charity, across the three islands.
