Ramsey lights up early for Christmas

It's beginning to look at lot like Christmas - in Ramsey!

The town's set to the be first in the Island to embrace the festive spirit, when the Chamber of Commerce
switches on the Christmas lights tomorrow 16, November.

It's the start of a campaign to boost the all-important pre Christmas run-in for local traders and heralds a programme of events throughout December.

The move has been welcomed by Ramsey Commissioners whose chairman Nigel Malpass who says the Chamber's shown creativity and vision to help revitalise the town centre during challenging trading conditions

Tomorrow's switch-on, to co incide with Children in Need day, takes place at the town Hall. Pudsey Bear will put in an appearance at 4.30pm before the lights are switched on by the Royal British Legion's Poppy Princess at 5pm.

Ramsey's Chamber of Commerce is planning a mini festival on 9 December, when part of Parliament Street will be closed for street entertainers, outdoor stalls and a hog roast.
